How to Take Charge of your Medical Information with Richard Kreis #popup #patientchat

June 5, 2016 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join Intake.me Patient Advisory Board member Richard Kreis for a #popup #patientchat on taking charge of your medical information.

Richard is a tri-fecta caregiver. He cares for his mother with heart and lung issues, co-cares for his brother in-law who lives with him and his wife and is dealing with epilepsy, and is also a patient himself suffering from chronic back pain. Richard blogs about the issues he runs into in the health care system and how to deal with them using humor on his site, PickYourPain.org. His tag line is “Pain without Humor is just Painful.”

Guiding our discussion will be the following Topic (T) Questions:

T1: What’s the first step in getting and controlling your medical information?

T2: Do hospitals and doctors have to share your information with you?

T3: How can eHealth products help me maintain and control my personal health records?

T4: How long should billing records, telephone calls/messages, and appointment books be kept?

T5: What about all the information in our records we don’t quite understand?

T6: What’s your best tip for maintaining your medical information?

Patient Chat Pop Ups are held at varying days and times, usually once per month. “Regular” chats are generally held every other Friday at 1:00pmET.
