Empowered #patientchat with @techguy

March 3, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

You’re Invited! Join us for an Empowered Patient Chat with special guest John Lynn, @techguy. We’ll discuss the intersection of patient empowerment and technology. Technology is a tool, but how do we motivate people to focus on their health?

John Lynn is the Founder of Healthcare Scene, a unique healthcare IT network which consists of 10 EHR and Healthcare IT blogs containing over 11,000 articles published over 11 years. Of those articles, John has written over 5500 of the articles himself. John also launched the Healthcare IT Marketing and PR Conference (HITMC), a premiere venue for health IT marketing and PR professionals to learn and network with their peers. This year’s conference is coming up April 5 -7, 2017.

Guiding our discussion will be the following Topic (T#:) Questions:
T1: What are some reasons that people aren’t interested in being engaged and empowered when it comes to health?
T2: What technologies or approaches do you think can influence an unmotivated patient to focus on their health?
T3: What services and tech would you like to see integrated into primary care to support maintaining a healthy quality of life?
T4: Is the doctor the right person to keep us healthy?  Or should we be developing technology and other professionals for that?
T5: Should “low-volume” patients be more involved in changing the healthcare system? Why or Why not?
T6: How can we lay a foundation of patient empowerment before a person experiences a major diagnosis – and needs it most?
