The HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition brings together 40,000+ health IT professionals, clinicians, executives and vendors from around the world for exceptional education, world-class speakers, cutting-edge health IT products and powerful networking. This year’s event is taking place Monday, February 29th through Friday, March 4th.
Joining a HIMSS panel of female entrepreneurs excelling in health and tech is Intake.me’s CEO and Co-Founder.
Darla Brown started her career in technology as a web engineer and grew to lead some of the most successful product and engineering teams in Los Angeles. When she went through cancer treatment in 2010, she was surprised to find so few healthcare products designed from the patient’s perspective. She was inspired to create Intake.me to help empower people in their own health. Intake.Me is focused on empowering consumers to make the best decisions for their own health, striving to empower patients and providers at each visit to improve communication and outcomes. Darla’s focus is developing Intake.Me into a leading digital health brand and she also advises a handful of leading companies in the media, wellness and healthcare industries.
The panel will take place Tuesday, March 1st from 2:30-3:45pm PST and is being hosted by Disruptive Women in Health Care whose mission is “to serve as a platform for provocative ideas, thoughts, and solutions in the health sphere.” Now in its seventh year, Disruptive Women has become an online destination for innovative thinking and has become a thought leader and influencer in its own right, receiving numerous awards and accolades including being named “one of the top health policy blogs” by Health Tech and a “Fierce Female Healthcare Blog To Watch” by Fierce Healthcare.
The panel will be moderated by Robin Strongin, Founder, Disruptive Women in Health Care. Joining Darla on the panel are: Nancy Green, Verizon Enterprise Solutions; Celia Pohani Huber, McKinsey & Company; Susan Philip, Milliman, Inc; Siv Sambasivam, GoodRx; and Lisa Suennen, Venture Valkyrie.
While at HIMSS, Darla will attend the Patient Engagement Symposium – a topic near and dear to our team at Intake.me.
Watch for a “pop-up” Empowered Patient Chat, hashtag #patientchat, on Twitter Monday, February 29th talking HIMSS, digital patient engagement and disrupting the status quo in healthcare.
