This Friday at 10am PST / 1pm EST, we’re going to try something a little different with #patientchat. We want to make use of the wonderfully collaborative patient community we have, and collaborate on producing a “patient checklist” for a doctor visit. We’ve already covered some of these topics in producing a #epatient toolkit, but we’re sure our #patientchat community has many more ideas.

So, join us this Friday by following the #patientchat hashtag on Twitter or using a service like twubs or tchat.io – to talk about what you would include on an #epatient checklist!

Instead of questions, here are some ideas to get you started:

Prepare Before the Visit

  • assemble your health records
  • print outs from your tracking systems (glucose logs, Fitbit, etc.)
  • decide on your top three questions for the doctor
  • what else?

During the Visit

  • a notepad and paper
  • insurance card
  • credit card
  • a friend
  • what else?

After the Visit

  • updated medication list
  • schedule for next appointment
  • what else?
